Candidates must complete the application and registration process via the official E.B.E. ORL-HNS online portal.

Step-by-Step Application & Registration Process

STEP 1: APPLICATION (Open Year-Round)

Applications for the E.B.E. ORL-HNS Examination can be submitted at any time throughout the year via the Application Portal.

To begin your application, please complete the following steps:

  • Complete the online application form with your personal, academic, and professional information.
  • In addition, keep your username and password so that you can access the portal and track your application status.

Required Documents

Please upload the following documents:

  • Either:
    • Copy of the certificate or proof of accreditation as an ORL-HNS specialist (all countries), or
    • Certificate from the Training Centre confirming enrolment in the final year of ORL-HNS training (UEMS member countries only)
  • Signed logbook (the UEMS ORL Section and Board Logbook is recommended if no other training logbook has been used)
  • Full Curriculum Vitae including a recent photograph
  • Copy of a government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver’s licence)

Please note:

  • Submit all documents in English. If your original documents are in another language, upload both the original document and an English translation.
  • Make sure all information is complete and accurate. Otherwise, the Examination Board may delay or decline your application.

STEP 2: ELIGIBILITY REVIEW

Once you have submitted all required documents, the Examination Board reviews your application.
Afterwards, approved candidates receive an email confirming their eligibility to register for the examination.

STEP 3: REGISTRATION FOR PART I EXAMINATION

Registration for the Part I Examination opens in December.

Only after your application has been approved can you register during the official registration period.

Once the Examination Board approves your application, your approval remains valid indefinitely. Therefore, you do not need to submit a new application. Instead, you may register for any future Part I Examination whenever registration opens.

After you register:

  • Complete the examination fee payment within 10–14 days.
  • Once we receive your payment, you will receive a confirmation email.

The Part I Examination takes place annually in Spring.

STEP 4: REGISTRATION FOR PART II EXAMINATION

Registration for the Part II Examination opens in May.

If you successfully pass the Part I Examination, you become eligible to register for the Part II Examination.
In addition, all candidates who passed the Part I Examination within the previous five years may register during the official registration period.
Once registration opens, eligible candidates receive further information about registration, examination dates, and examination requirements.
